BLOODHOUND
www.BLOODHOUNDSSC.com In the UK, the US, and many other developed countries worldwide, there is a severe shortage of scientists, engineers and mathematicians. As a result, there is an urgent need for our youth to take an interest in these fields and be motivated to study science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics (STEM) in school and then again at the college/university level.

Who is BLOODHOUND?
The BLOODHOUND Project, The BLOODHOUND Education Programme, The BLOODHOUND team and sponsors are determined to reignite interest in science, engineering and technology amongst youngsters across the world.
The BLOODHOUND Project’s mission to overcome the impossible using science, technology, engineering and mathematics is evident in their conquest to break the World Land Speed Record by creating the BLOODHOUND Supersonic Car (SSC). However, building the world’s fastest car does not even begin to describe the dedication BLOODHOUND has to STEM education in our world’s schools and universities.
The BLOODHOUND SSC Project is not your typical engineering project where plans, research and development are under lock and key. By supporting the project and the BLOODHOUND Education Programme, teachers and students will gain access to project research, SSC design plans, as well as curriculum resources.

Learn About The Car
About the Car
You may be wondering, how is a Supersonic car going to rekindle this lost enthusiasm for science and engineering? Let’s face it, youngsters and adults alike are captivated by cars; so it’s only logical to think that the thought of creating a car that can travel more than 1000 mph is simply mind-blowing.
When you see images of the BLOODHOUND SSC, it looks just like an enhanced racing car. However, the design and engineering that has gone into the BLOODHOUND makes it anything but a racing car. This 13m long, 6½ tonne masterpiece is truly a work of engineering art from the front wheel suspension and ice tanks for cooling all the way down to the steel frame and the composite tub to keep the driver safe.
By supporting The BLOODHOUND Project, teachers and students can gain insight and information about the BLOODHOUND SSC, jet propulsion, steering, and the prototyping process.
